Two Hour Classes


(Each student must select 2 – 2 hour courses)

Balloon SculptureCost: $10.00
Students will learn the craft of balloon sculpting used by magicians
and clowns. Heather Banks from Silly Farm will show students her
success in developing a business around balloon sculpting.

BioethicsFREE
Students will learn the ethical theories of Kant, Rawls, and Utilitarianism
to debate the controversial issues of physician-assisted suicide,
cloning, and research ethics. See Mrs. Toscano.
Calligraphy / Cross-stitchCost $ 30.00
Students will learn basic pen strokes and make cards, invitations,
and personalized stationary. They will learn the basics of counted
cross-stitch and make Christmas gifts. See Ms. Colon.
Children’s StoryFREE
Students will read and discuss children’s stories. Then,
they will write, workshop, illustrate and publish their own children’s
stories. See Mr. Kirkley.
College Essay WorkshopFREE
Students will research effective college essays, isolate the
characteristics that made them effective, generate individual topics,
produce drafts, and revise final pieces with peer and teacher feedback.
See Mr. Heffernan.
History of the BluesFREE
Students will study Blues music: its history, relevance,
and meaning. See Mr. McMullan.
Introduction to FencingFREE
Students will learn basic movements and bladework so that
they can participate at a beginner’s level.
See Mr. Kearney.
Introduction to Track and FieldFREE
Students will learn about the many track and field events by
lecture and films. There will be a track meet on the 4th day.
