Marianist Education Consortium

The Marianist Education Consortium (MEC) includes the primary and secondary schools sponsored by the Society of Mary (Marianist Province of the United States) throughout the United States, Puerto Rico and Ireland. It is part of an international system of schools associated with the Society of Mary. Member schools in the Marianist tradition strive to practice the virtues of Jesus and Mary so that they might educate as would Jesus and Mary. "We teach in order to educate." Teaching develops skill and transferred knowledge. Marianist education cultivates habits of mind, heart and spirit — all informed, animated, and permeated by the Christian spirit. Member schools find their anchor in the Characteristics of Marianist Education (CME):

an education for formation in faith;
an integral and quality education;
an education in family spirit;
an education for service, justice and peace;
an education for adaptation and change.
